The eligible candidates will have to appear in a written MCQ examination of 1 hour duration to be held in this Department. The syllabus of this examination is the M.Sc. syllabus of Atmospheric Science of this University. The successful candidates will be called for an interview. The final selection for joining this Department as a Ph.D. student will be on the basis of the interview.
Candidates who have already passed UGC / CSIR (JRF) Examinations/ NET/ SET/ SLET/ GATE/ or equivalent examinations or passed the M.Phil. / M. Tech or equivalent examination need not appear at the written examination, but have to appear at the interview.

How to apply : Applications are invited for admission to Department of Atmospheric Sciences, University of Calcutta, 51/2, Hazra Road, Kolkata – 700 019. Candidates, who wish to pursue research work through this Department, fulfilling the eligibility criteria, should apply in the prescribed format - form obtainable from College Street Campus (Sales Counter) by paying Rs. 100/- through a challan.
The filled-in application form, along with the challan, should be submitted to the Office, Department of Atmospheric Sciences, by 13 June, 2014.
